Daily Dog Walks: What Sammy Found To Carry On Our Walk Today...

  • March 14- rolled up newspaper and a gallon milk jug that was smashed weird so she had to carry it by the handle which made me laugh
  • March 11- Arby's cup and sticks galore!
  • February 26 & 27- We love the snow and Sammy loves it even more than us, but sadly, it covers everything up which makes finding things to carry really hard! So for two days in a row now, I have no new findings to report
  • February 25- blue knit glove (Sammy left it on our doormat overnight for safe keeping), stick, tar, a toyota hubcap (yes, a hubcap)
  • February 24- stick, blue knit glove
  • February 23- stick, DQ Blizzard cup, Tace Bell sack, stick
  • February 22- envelope, plastic water bottle, stick, stick
  • February 21- tennis ball
  • February 20- Thank goodness for the snow! We were able to go to Crestview and play. Sammy loves diving into the snow and she loves eating it even more. She was sad she lost her ball in the snow so she made up for the lost fun by jumping on the snowballs we were rolling in an attempt to make a snowman.
  • February 19- It was too rainy for the dog park this Saturday so I took Sammy on an extra long walk instead. For the entire hour and a half Sammy only wanted to carry one thing- a tennis ball
  • February 18- Today we found a bus ticket and then another large stick/branch. This is my favorite thing that Sammy attempts to carry because you can tell how proud she is of herself for having it- she holds her head up high and almost prances with her feet. Sadly, no branch can contend with a tennis ball which is what we came upon next. And then it was her lucky day because we came across another tennis ball! How could she ever choose between the two? Easy... she doesn't. She carried both balls in her mouth at the same time which made every passerby laugh.
  • February 17- little stick, big stick (more of a branch really), Coffee Mate french vanilla coffee creamer bottle, styrafoam yogurt cup, little stick
  • February 16- stick, pine cone, glove, milk jug
  • February 15- slurpee lid, Mrs. Butterworth's bottle, stick, diet coke can, bounce sheet
  • February 14- As Sammy and I walked out our door today, she immediately started trying to find something to pick up. This is pretty typical so I didn't pay any attention to what she was doing until we came across a tennis ball I knew she would want. But before she could pick it up, she had to spit out a rubber glove, a wadded up paper towel, a plastic cheese and cracker package, and a milk jug lid. I was laughing so hard- she had been carrying all of that all at once.
  • February 13- air freshener, used firework, little stick, tennis ball, slurpee lid
  • February 12- Saturdays usually mean one thing for Sammy- dog park! Today Mikey wanted to make his maiden voyage to Tanner Park. There were tons of dogs and tons of mud which means Sammy had the time of her life. To our surprise she even got in the river. She usually gets way to cold so she stears clear of the water, which makes sense why she would choose February to take her first dip. Afterwards we went straight to Dirty Johnsons for a bath
  • February 11- Sammy started off where she left off yesterday with the Mrs. Butterworth's bottle (she left it on our front doorstep overnight for safe keeping). Next she found a DQ Blizzard cup, a crest mouthwash bottle, a small stick, and then a medium stick that got us back home. Can I just say how B-E-A-UTIFUL it is outside today? All I wore was a sweatshirt and jeans and I still got hot. The forecast says it's going to be 50 on Tuesday! I might just have to put on my swimming suit to go walk the dog. If you see me just honk and if you're feeling generous you can tell me how great my pale winter skin looks against the salted asphalt... I'd appreciate that.
  • February 10- I'd like to give a shout out to my mom who joined us for our walk today and laughed as Sammy found a small water bottle, then upgraded to a large water bottle, switched for a squirt soda, and then found the trusty Mrs. Butterworth's bottle again
  • February 9- egg carton, little stick, empty Mrs. Butterworth's 1/2 gal syrup bottle... who buys a 1/2 gallon bottle of syrup anyways?
